Twenty-two compounds were isolated from Amorpha fruticosa (fruit, bark, wood, leaf, root) by Sephadex LH-20 and silica gel column chromatography. Their chemical structures were identified by instrumental analysis using MS (JEOL JMS-SX102A, JEOL 700) and NMR (Varian Unity-Inova 500 MHz). From the fruit of A. fruticosa six rotenoids, one flavonoid, one isoflavone, methyl gallate and gallic acid were isolated. Five isoflavones were isolated from bark. From the wood one chalcone, one flavanone and three isoflavones were isolated. From leaf one isoflavone were isolated. One chalcone were isolated from root. Among these compounds 3', 5', 7-trihydroxyflavanone, 4', 7-dimethoxy isoflavone-6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside and 6a-hydroxy-dalpanol-O-β-D -glucopyranoside were isolated for the first time from A. fruticosa. IC50 (ppm) in methyl gallate (17.04 ppm), 3, 4, 4', 6'-tetrahydroxy chalcone (17.95 ppm) and 3', 5', 7-trihydroxyflavanone (19.62 ppm) were lower than those of standard compounds (α-tocopherol; 21.09 ppm, BHT; 24.61 ppm).
