春川市 老人의 聽力狀態 調査硏究

Korea's graying is gone so fast that is entered as advanced age society in 2019. The important interest is health among social problem by advanced age. Specially, hearing loss cause communication problem that could not found in presbycusis. This study was to investigate the hearing status according to gender and age in over 60 years old. Hearing loss by external noises or disease was not included for this study, Specially, the subjects were composed with the residence in Chunchon, which is local small city with relatively less noise. Total 213 people(426 ears) participated with 50 people at age of 60's, 95 at age of 70's, and 68 at age of 80's. 84 were men and 129 were women. Air and bone conduction audiometry was in the performed silent space using portable audiometer. The results were as followed. 1. The whole data showed that three is no difference between right and left ear. Also, there is no difference between air and bone conduction thresholds except 250 Hz. 2. The data showed gender effect on hearing thresholds with higher thresholds in men at higher frequencies. 3. The data showed age effect on the degree of hearing loss. In 60's over 65% showed slight and mild hearing losses, in 70's about 60% showed slight and moderate hearing losses, and in 80's about 60% showed moderate and moderately severe hearing losses. 4. Interaction effect of gender and age were not shown in this data. The results of this study appeared similarly with studies about existent presbycusis, which means that Chunchon's elder population follows general aging in hearing loss. Accordingly proper aural rehabilitation for the elderly should be considered in the future.
