    Social competence is a vital life skill necessary in the development of adolescents. A socially competent individual has the opportunity to experience meaningful relationships. The paper is a quasiexperimental study aimed at examining the effectiveness of 'TeamSports Learning' model as an intervention through longitudinal data collection. The participants of the study included 432 Middle School students in South Korea from three different grade levels 1, 2 &3. The various grade levels were assigned to either an experimental or control group in testing the intervention model experience of Team SportsLearning. The model focused on Team dynamics & learning through live experiences of team sports. The model in enhancing social competences promotes effective communication, conflict resolutions, positive reinforcements, and leadership. Two trait ability measurements, (1)FER Facial Emotional Recognition & (2)EI Emotional Intelligence were assessed using a pretest and posttest time frame approach for data collection. Results showed gains of the experimental group in measures of FER factors of Emotion Identification/labeling & Emotion Discrimination, and in measures of EI Facilitating thought, all with statistical significance using one‐way ANOVA with repeated measures. In the development of social competences (Skills) learner's ability to recognize their emotional states and assessing their emotional states of themselves and others are vital skills. This research utilizes facial emotional recognition (FER) & emotional Intelligence scales (EIS) to validate Team Sports Learning model relevance to physical education classrooms as an intervention model. In developed countries where technological communication keeps exponentially advancing, the physical social interaction decreases as a consequence. Interventions as that of Team Sports Learning geared towards healthy social interaction is vital and will utilize physical education classrooms as the platform to preserve, improve and restore social competence in future generations.
