Adult stem cells (ASC) are not capable of unlimited proliferation and less versatile than embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). But ASCs can control the proliferation and self-renewal potential with serum growth factors for example fibroblast growth factor2 (FGF2), cell seeding density, inhibitors and several other ways. Recent evidence indicates that Rho/ROCK signaling and ROCK activation are related to apoptosis and differentiation. Y-27632 which is well known as inhibitor related to Rho/ROCK signaling is treated to hamster mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) to investigate the effect of inhibition of differentiation. Treatment of ROCK inhibitor didn't show the passage big difference between ROCK inhibitor treated and untreated groups. But for quantitative analysis, a transcription factor genes expression in ROCK inhibitor treated MSCs group was higher than untreated group.
