    In this study, drag characteristics research of huge wind turbine tower has been conducted. The tower has large cross-section and height, so the Reynolds number is significantly increased and flow characteristics are much more complicated without nacelle and blade parts. First of all, 2D cross-sections (circular, hexagonal, octagonal) computational flow analysis is performed for the flow characteristics. Furthermore, drag of around the actual size of tower were compared by CFD analysis with various wind velocity. The actual size of the 3D grid and tower model has created using Star-CCM+. As a 2D and 3D analysis results, the circular cross-section and tower has the lowest drag coefficient, respectively. In addition, unsteady flow analysis was performed for Strouhal Number with high level of Reynolds number. The result was similar with previous studies and confirmed that Strouhal Number can be obtained through the CFD analysis.
