부장교사의 역할수행 및 역할기대에 대한 초등교사의 인식분석

The purpose of this research was to analyse the elementary school teachers' views on the role performance and role expectation of the chief-teacher. To accomplish this purpose, the researcher surveyed 276 teachers who work at 30 elementary schools in Jinju, Sacheon, Goseong, and Sancheong areas. Main results of this study were as follows: First, the study showed that perception of overall chief teacher's role performance and role expectation was relatively positive. There was no big difference in the level of perception regardless of background factors, such as teacher's gender, teaching experience, position, and experience as a chief teacher. Second, concerning the chief elementary school teacher's role performance and role expectation, role expectation was shown to be higher than role performance in every factors including assistance, guidance, adjustment, and task performance, Third, the difference between role performance and role expectation toward a chief teacher showed a remarkably big gap in assistance role, whereas the difference between the expectation level of task performance and level of performance was the least. Last, according to the result, it was revealed that subjects positively perceived the way of appointment to a chief teacher, which wasn't affected by background variables. Also, task performance competence was considered the most important variable in appointing a chief teacher. Relationship with other people was the second most significant variable in appointment of a chief teacher.
