The increase of residential, commercial and public facilities in urban area has caused drastic decrease in green area. Downtown atmosphere temperature has also risen due to the emission of lots of air pollutants and artificial heat, which is generally called “Heat Island Phenomenon”. In summer the surface temperature of asphalt and concrete particularly up to more than higher than 60℃. The gradually released that after sunset gives us tropical night weather. Asphalt and concrete surface account for more than 50% of the town pavement. In order to reduce the So-called thermal island effect porous pavement and drainage pavement has employed to cool the surface by vaporizing water absorbed when it rains. In this study three kinds of inorganic pigments (Orange color, Green Color and Blue color) were spreaded onto the asphalt surface. The pigments were mixed with epoxy resin uniformly, and the mixture were coated onto the asphalt surface. The surface temperatures were proved to the greatly depending on the colors of the pigments. The lighter the color of the cool pigments is, the larger the effect of temperature reduction appears.
