    The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the middle school students' perception on their home-room teacher's emotional leadership and their school life. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted with the sample of 530 students who are second and third graders of four different middle schools in west Gyeong-nam Province, and first graders of two high schools in Jinju city. Major findings of this study were as follows. First, students' school life perceived by the respondents scored 3.76 out of 5, which indicates students were more satisfied than average. Among the student's personal background variables, student's academic performance made a significant difference to student's school life. The better academic performance at school, the more satisfied at their school life, as the result showed. Second, middle school students' perceptions on their homeroom teachers' emotional leadership scored 3.8 out of 5, which was quite higher than average score. Especially it was revealed that the homeroom teachers' age was a highly influential factor in controlling the students' emotional leadership of their homeroom teacher. Also, students in suburban schools held a more positive perception on their homeroom teacher's emotional leadership. Third, homeroom teachers' emotional leadership had a strong influence on middle school students' life. Out of four factors of emotional leadership, such as self-awareness, self-management, awareness of others, and relationship management and self-awareness, self-awareness of homeroom teachers had the strongest influence on students' school life.
