    The purpose of the study is to examine the effects of parents' conflict, parents-adolescents conflict and stress perceived by adolescents on their problem behavior and suicidal ideation. The study also examines to what extent the adolescents are distressed regarding the familial factors, and what kind of effect these family environment and stress exerts on their problem behavior and suicidal ideation to ultimately decrease and prevent the problem behavior and suicidal ideation of the adolescents. To achieve the objectives of the study, research questions are presented as belows. * A thesis submitted to the Committee of the Graduate School of Education, Gyeongsang National University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Master's degree of Education in August, 2014. First, is there any difference on parents' conflict, parents-adolescents conflict, stress, adolescent's problem behavior and suicidal ideation depending on the adolescent's background variables? Second, what are the relations among the parents' conflict, parents-adolescents conflict and stress perceived by adolescents, and their problem behavior and suicidal ideation? Third, do the parents' conflict, parents-adolescents conflict and stress perceived by adolescents exert effect on adolescent's problem behavior? Forth, do the parents' conflict, parents-adolescents conflict and stress perceived by adolescents exert effect on adolescent's suicidal ideation? The study recruited the 700 students in their 1st year of the three high schools located in Gyeongsangnam-do on random sampling, and 658 samples are used for the final analysis. SPSS 21.0 program is used for the statistical analyses including mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, correlation and regression. The instruments used in the study are parents' conflict scale, parents-adolescents conflict scale, stress scale, problem behavior scale and suicidal ideation scale. The results summarized are as follows: First, the parents' conflict and stress perceived by adolescents are higher in those belong to the low socioeconomic status than those in the middle and high socioeconomic status. The problem behavior is higher in those living with a single father, rather than those living with a single mother or both of the parents. Both the problem behavior and suicidal ideation are higher in those belong to the low socioeconomic status than other groups. The suicidal ideation is higher in the female students than the male students. Second, there are significant relations between the parents' conflict and parents-adolescents conflict, parents' conflict and stress, parents' conflict and problem behavior, parents' conflict and suicidal ideation, parents-adolescents conflict and stress, parents-adolescents conflict and problem behavior, parents-adolescents conflict and suicidal ideation, stress and problem behavior and stress and suicidal ideation. Third, the parents' conflict perceived by adolescent affects the intrinsic problem behavior. The factors affect the extrinsic problem behavior are the parents' conflict, parents-adolescents conflict perceived by adolescent and stress. The factors affect adolescent's problem behavior are also parents' conflict, parents-adolescents conflict and stress. Forth, parents' conflict, parents-adolescents conflict and stress have significant effects on the adolescent's suicidal ideation. Among these, the most influential on the suicidal ideation is the stress.
