    For this study, carcass trait data from the Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation and pedigree data from the Korea Animal Improvement Association were analyzed and related studies were conducted. The pedigree information on 161,310 head of steers with registered pedigrees of which the information on both father and mother exists surveyed in the Korean native cattle pedigree registration project of the Korea Animal Improvement Association and the carcass grade judgment data (dressed weight, eye muscle area, back-fat thickness, marbling score, and auction price) collected by the Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation were used and the years of birth(2008~2010), the seasons of birth, the regions of birth, mother registration categories (basic, pedigree, advanced), mother's calving numbers(1~8), passages (1~8), and slaughtered ages of the month (25~35 months) were used for environmental effects to compare the least mean square values of carcass traits and auction prices among individual environmental effect groups. The means of carcass traits and auction prices of Korean native steers with registered pedigrees were shown to be 419.46kg, 90.46㎠, 13.08㎜, 5.39 points, and 14,402 won. Analyses of variance were conducted to analyze environmental effects on the carcass traits and auction prices of Korean native steers with registered pedigrees. According to the results, in the tests of the effects of the years of birth, the seasons of birth, the regions of birth, mother registration categories, mother's calving numbers, passages, and slaughtered ages of the month, most traits except for back-fat thicknesses showed highly significant differences(p
