(A) Study for the Performance Enhancement on Exchanging Content Information by Reducing Interest/Data Packet in CCNx

This thesis paper suggested efficient contents issuing technology based on CCNx that has actually materialized CCN, and analyzed the performance by materializing the suggested method in reality. For this, ccnputfile, the technology for issuing contents on the existing CCNx, was studied and the problems and limits of the existing method were deducted. Moreover DASH over CCN, which enabled the adaptive streaming technology, DASH(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP), to operate on CCN, was analyzed and problems regarding contents issuing technology using MPD(Media Presentation Description) were raised. Through this, the fact that the existing content issuing technologies increased the size of the messages needed to be delivered as the files got bigger, and this bringing overhead was checked. Therefore, this paper understood the increasing size of messages needed to be delivered in accordance with the contents to be issued in the existing research, and carried out the research in a way to reduce network overload by not letting the messages get bigger although the size of contents may, based on ccnputfile, the existing CCNx's contents issuing technology. In order to solve existing problems, this paper has checked that the number of file segment continually increases when issuing a content on ccnputfile of CCNx, MPD files get bigger as the length of the video in DASH over CCN gets longer through analysis, and has suggested a method which sends the file's prefix and the last segment's number when issuing a content. These methods have merits that can reduce the size of messages delivered to the network when a content is issued independently of the file's size. When content is issued through the suggested method, if the size of issued content file increases to 1MB, it delivers 1,679bytes averagely smaller packet than CCNx, and 488bytes than DASH over CCN. Here, the experience issued each content different in size and the contents used different length of video files with same bitrate. Enfin, the suggested content issuing method can reduce network overload through reducing the amount of information to the issued content delivered to circumferential CCN Node, when issued from CCNx.
