A Study on the Structure Stability for the Exhaust ACU Booster Fan in Nuclear Power Plant

Exhaust ACU Booster Fan used for ventilating contaminated air into Exhaust Air Cleaning Unit in nuclear power plants should meet the seismic qualification regulations of IEEE Std 323 and 344 so as to withstand earthquakes or dangerous situations. We establish a model for the estimation of the structural integrity. If the natural frequency that result of modal analysis is less than 33 Hz, not static analysis but dynamic analysis. Static analysis was carried out taking into consideration seismic condition such as FRS(Floor Response Spectrum), OBE (Operation Base Earthquake), and SSE (Safe Shutdown Earthquake). Anchor bolt stress analysis also was carried out taking into consideration seismic condition under DW(Dead weight + Operating Load) reaction forces, SSE reaction forces and combined forces(?DW?+?SSE?). Impeller - Casing tip clearance analysis was perfored taking into consideration seismic condition. Finally, analytical estimation of the structural integrity of a Exhaust ACU Booster Fan is performed by making a comparison of the calculation value and the allowable value. The amplitude ratio was confirmed that satisfied with IEEE344.
