차세대 무선 통신 전력증폭기 집적도 향상 및 Butler Matrix 설계에 관한 연구

Study on the design of micro-sized power amplifier and Butler Matrix for advanced wireless communications Caused by the rapid increase in the number of devices with advanced media features on the wireless communication field, the demand for high-capacity and flexible base station equipment is gradually increasing. For corresponding to this issue, a broadband Class-J and Class-F-1 power amplifiers(PAs) that can be integrated into compact-sized micro-radio units are introduced in this paper. These PAs use a multi-harmonic impedance merging technique at harmonic frequencies so that the circuit areas of matching networks can be minimized. Furthermore, a highly compact broadband 4×4 Butler matrix for X-band applications is realized in LTCC(Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) technology which enables to enhance the circuit integration. The proposed Butler matrix is composed of four tandem couplers and two Schiffman phase shifters in order to achieve broadband performance.
