Continuously innovative activities are required to pursue long term survival in dynamic and complex environments. This study draws on a framework that is composed of social·technical infrastructure, platform capability and innovation effect. While internal business capability includes innovative member propensity and loosely coupled organizational structure in supporting such activities, external ecological capability includes member collaboration in information sharing among multiple and diverse partners by building appropriate platforms. Based on the survey of 102 firms in Korea, the results founds positive relationships: first, between social/technical infrastructure and internal/external platform capability; second, between internal business platform capability and radical innovation. And also found is that such relationships tends to be moderated by environmental dynamics. This 'infrastructure-platform-innovation' framework should help researchers and practitioners understand the foundation of sustainable enterprise in an effort to delineate strategic considerations regarding long-term survival.
