    Socio-Cultural Conflicts of Foreign Migrant Workers in the Korean Workplace: The Case of Thai Migrant Workers With the increasing number of migrant workers staying in Korea for a long period of time, multi-cultural communities for living with Koreans have been made, but poor environment still continues due to the differences in the way of life, causing an increase in the number of social issues caused by their maladjustment in Korean society. This study analyzes the general characteristics of Thai migrant workers and their socio-cultural conflicts from adapting in Korean society to looks into solutions to reduce their conflicts. Chapter Two briefly contains theoretical backgrounds in cultural conflict, culture shock and acculturation. Chapter Three analyses management system for foreign workers, migrant workers inflow background and their status in Korea, and Thai migrants' background. Chapter Four discusses the analysis of social and cultural conflict factors with general demographic characteristics of the sample from survey and interview by conflicts due to socio-cultural causes, conflicts from working environment and from the differences of the perception in different cultures. This study looked at the factors of social cultural conflict that Thai workers have worked under the Korea experience. The findings are as follows; first, language barrier seemed to be a major issue in social cultural conflict while conflicts due to difference in food or climate did not play a major role. Second, in terms of conflicts from work environment and particularly, the work site environment and residential environment, the issues are related to the organizations that hire these workers. Overall, their satisfaction with the salary was high and they wanted to work overtime. Third, there seems to be a prejudice on Korean ways of thinking and towards Thai people. The characteristics of foreign workers from Thailand are as follows; first, Thai workers are relatively young and came to Korea to earn money and meet economic goals. Second, unlike Koreans' tendency towards collectivism, Thai people showed a tendency towards individualism. Third, Thai people show a strong tendency to obey authority and Thailand values courtesy towards the elderly in a similar fashion to Korea.
