This study aims to develop a tool to measure to evaluate physical self-recognition including workout ability, coordination, physical sense, and physical power which have been formed through physical experiences and images. In order to identify the concept of physical self-recognition configuration, documentary study and analysis of questionnaire related to the concept of body which has been previously-developed. Based on it, preliminary questionnaires were produced and preliminary research was conducted. As a result of preliminary research, dancers' self-awareness of body was found that it included sub-factors of workout, physical sense, coordination, physical power. Reviewing details of each factor, physical power was related to workout such as muscle power, flexibility, endurance, etc. Coordination is related to harmonize physical movement, Physical sense was found that it consists of physical energy, and ability to sense internal changes. Ability to exercise was related to physical ability recognized, ability-related factors. Targeting 110 dancers, preliminary questionnaires were conducted. Descriptive statistics was conducted to review average, standard deviation, skewness, and rate of question response. The coefficient of reliability was calculated. Improper questions were removed. Over the above-mentioned procedures, using measurement tools for research, based on the collected date, exploring factor analysis and internal reliability analysis were conducted. In the stage of exploring factor, through main factors analysis, factors were extracted. Berry Max rotation method was applied with Kaiser standardization. The suitability of samples was tested by KMO and Bartlett. Reliability for each factor was tested by using alpha of Chronbach. Through exploring factor analysis for preliminary research results, after removing one single question, targeting 23 questions left, exploring factor analysis was conducted again. As a result of analysis, all of 23 questions which ask for physical awareness were classified into four factors. Weight of factor in each question was more than 0.04. The names of factors were named as physical power, coordination, workout, and sense according to the original. The reliability in each factor was used and tested by Chronbach. The physical power was .839, coordination was .874, workout ability was .819, and sense was .758. Based on these results, questions in questionnaire to measure physical diagram used in this study were found that they met standards of reliability. Based on the results acquired from main research after, to check the suitability of physical body diagram model which was established in this study, the analysis of factor to check was conducted. The analysis of factor to check was conducted to check if models for 23 questions are suitable. As a result, index of 23 questions for the suitability of physical self-awareness model, χ2 was 471.418 (df = 224, p=.000) and difference of averages among factors (RMR) was .046. CFI was .929. RMSEA was .053. Based on these results, as a result of review on details of 23 questions model, details of questions are judged that they include suitable details which are proper to measure dancers' physical self-awareness. Therefore, 23 question model was adopted. Comprehending these studies, physical self-awareness was found that it was closely related to psychological factors such as physical image, physical self-efficacy, physical self-concept, etc. which are exposed consciously since self-awareness of one's own body reflects one's own physical features. The concept of body that dancers have could be evaluated quantitatively. The results of this study is expected to provide with useful information to establish the concept of how prospective dancers' self-awareness on their bodies. It is expected to be used as fundamental data to demonstrate how participation in dance can contribute to establish the concept of physical body. Key words: body self-awareness, body image, physical self-efficacy feeling, physical self-recognition, dance
