    This study proposed a method for producing chemicals from thermal deoxygenation of fermented lactic acid that results from organic waste. Under the proposed method, calcium lactate can be converted to various chemical products such as ketones and hydrocarbons through thermal deoxygenation. After the thermal deoxygenation, the residues were calcined for 3 hours and converted to slaked lime. X-ray diffraction(XRD) was used to verify the reusability of calcium salts. From the XRD patterns, the results indicated that hydrated calcium lactate is converted to calcium carbonate and to calcium oxide after calcinations and the pattern of calcium lactate precipitate is similar to that of hydrated calcium lactate before reaction. Also, the thermal deoxygenation of the calcium lactate prepared from reprecipitation of lactic acid obtained the similar the yield of liquid and compositions to that of initial sample. Therefore, the proposed method of utilizing fermented lactic acid for chemical production without generating waste not only demonstrates the possibility of producing useful substances from food waste, but also offers a solution to existing issues with waste processing.
