In modern days, noise of vacuum cleaner becomes important because of explosively increased confliction among households in flats. With the development of vacuum cleaner, noises generated during operation has been recognized as a significant factor of performance by potential purchasers. In this study, peak noise(tone noise), generated at the centrifugal fan when it has impeller-diffuser interaction, is predicted to understand the physics of its phenomenon at various flow rate. In addition, simplified noise prediction method are tested at various flow rate. It is found that the simplified noise prediction method are valid when it has orifice of 19mm diameters. splitters are introduced to improve flow between the impellers and noise performance. And we confirm the improvement effectiveness of noise attenuation by 7 ~ 8dB. The Incompressible Navier-stokes equation is be used with CFX to analyze the characteristics.
