Dynamic numerical experiments with 3D-bubble columns. Analysis of some key mixing mechanisms
Fluid-dynamical models have been developed to achieve a more detailed understanding of the flow within bubble columns. In the paper, dynamic numerical experiments were used to study bubbly flows in air-in-water-dispersions with small salt additions to inhibit coalescence. The density-driven flow of the dispersion qualitatively explained some of the main features of bubbly flows in bubble columns.
