A Study for the Curriculum Development of Convention Planning and Management
This study introduces the issues and concepts for convention planning and management for the course content development of new course in “Convention Planning and Management.” Since the expansion of business opportunities in a global context requires a more job capacities for professional secretaries in terms of conference management, a new perspectives for the convention planning and management issues and case studies are included. The overall processes of convention planning and management are introduced and the role of convention planners are also defined. The highlight of the study focus is to introduce authentic convention planning and management case study in order to implement future curriculum design in the field of convention-related courses. Through the comparison of curriculum between convention management and subject studies of international office management, it was shown that there are many common areas among core curriculum contents. It is required to develop continuous research studies through practical field experience for the development of course contents.
