초등학교 영어 수업의 교사질문 분석
The Analysis of Teacher's Questioning in Elementary English Classroom
The purpose of this study is to analyze teachers' question types in terms of forms, function/content, and the purposes. Six videotapes of actual English class were collected and transcribed focusing on teacher's questioning. The results were as follows. First, teachers used English-medium, wh-questions, text-related epitomic questions, and display questions more frequently than Korean-medium, yes/no questions, echoic questions and referential questions. Second, teachers used different types of questions according to the stages of the teaching procedures. Finally native English teachers used wh-questions, text-related epidemic questions, and referential questions more frequently than Korean English teachers. Some suggestions were made based on the results.
