The Poetic Effect of '~ ida' and '~ geotida' Construction in Baek-seok's poem
This thesis is written to analyze the poetic effect of '~ida' and '~geotida' construction in Baek-Seok's poem. Firstly Baek-Seok suppressed speaker's feeling and will and also took advantage of making a statement of the situation through the '~ida' construction. He expressed this statement in repetition and listing, and reappeared the experience vivid. And with this '~ida' construction, Secondly Baek-Seok apply the meaning of '~ida' construction and make the poetic meaning like a determined and solemn announcement of a truth. '~geotida' construction makes a special effect when the first person's experience is expressed. There are two cases in the first person's poem. In first case he express the experience of old days very vivid as young speaker's eyes and finish it with the '~geotida' construction at the end. So he makes a new speaker as making objectification of the statement. Therefore the speaker remembers the experience of old days continually and it makes the experience even more touching. Secondly it finishes with '~geotida' construction as “I” a speaker's self-reflection. So there is a new “I” that talks about his self-reflection. And thus we can feel the speaker's anguish who deepens his thought thinking carefully for a long time. Baek-Seok wrote poems using our language constructively. He used '~ida' and '~geotida' construction actively and made poetic meanings deeper by using these constructions as a combination with the other constructions. He made a lot of examples of literary styles of our language by creating lots of constructions that could reflect poetic meanings effectively and that is now being important models to later ages in poetic sentences.
