Intracavity CdTe modulators for CO2lasers
The use of cadmium telluride as an electrooptic material for intracavity modulation of CO 2 lasers is described. Included are the predicted and measured effects of CdTe intracavity modulators on laser performance. Coupling and frequency modulation are discussed and experimental results compared with theoretically predicted performance for both techniques. Limitations on the frequency response of the two types of modulation are determined.
