    초록

    This research aims to develop a DNA chip array without an indicator. We fabricated a microelectrode array through photolithography technology. Several DNA probes were immobilized on an electrode. Then, target DNA was hybridized and measured electrochemically. Cyclic-voltammograms (CVs) showed a difference between the DNA probe and mismatched DNA in an anodic peak. This indicator-free DNA chip resulted in a sequence-specific detection of the target DNA.

    In this paper, a thermopneumatic PMDS (polydimethlysiloxane) micropump with nozzle/diffuser elements is presented. The micropump is composed of nozzle/diffuser elements as dynamic valves, an actuator consisting of a circular PDMS diaphragm and a Cr/Au heater on a glass substrate. Four PDMS layers are used for fabrication of an actuator chamber, actuator diaphragm by a spin coating process, spacer layer, and nozzle/diffuser by the SU-8 molding process. The radius and thickness of the actuator diaphragm is 2 mm and 30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ , respectively. The length and the conical angle of the nozzle/diffuser elements are 3.5 mm and 20 $^{\circ}$ , respectively. The actuator diaphragm is driven by the air cavity pressure variation caused by ohmic heating and natural cooling. The flow rate of the micropump in the frequency domain is measured for various duty cycles of the square wave input voltage. When the square wave input voltage of 5 V DC is applied to the heater, the maximum flow rate of the micropump is 44.6 ${mu}ell$ /min at 100 Hz with a duty ratio of 80% under the zero pressure difference.

    To use Poly-dimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for the electrokinetic flow channel, the PDMS surface must be modified to be hydrophilic. With $O_2$ plasma treatment, it is difficult to maintain hydrophilicity for more than one day. In this paper, we present the chemical modification of the PDMS surface using 2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) to prolong hydrophilicity lifetime. The oxide radicals generated temporarily on the PDMS surface by $O_2$ plasma are grafted with HEMA. Once the PDMS samples have been grafted, they demonstrate improved hydrophilicity retainment and electroosmotic flow characteristics compared to the untreated PDMS and the oxidized PDMS following the $O_2$ plasma process. This phenomenon was verified by the contact angles, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra and electro osmotic flow rates observed for more than 300 hours.

    In this study, a DNA chip with a microelectrode array was fabricated using microfabrication technology. Several probe DNAs consisting of mercaptohexyl moiety at their 5' end were immobilized on the gold electrodes by a DNA arrayer. Then target DNAs were hybridized and reacted with Hoechst 33258, which is a DNA minor groove binder and electrochemically active dye. Linear sweep voltammetry or cyclic voltammetry showed a difference between target DNA and control DNA in the anodic peak current values. It was derived from Hoechst 33258 and concentrated at the electrode surface through association with the formed hybrid. This suggested that this DNA chip could recognize the sequence specific genes.

    This paper presents a silicon probe tip for vertical probe card application. The silicon probe tip was fabricated using MEMS technology such as porous silicon micromachining and deep- RIE (reactive ion etching). The thickness of the silicon epitaxial layers was 5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 7 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ , respectively. The width and length were 40 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 600 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ , respectively. The probe structure was a multilayered structure and was composed of Au/Ni-Cr/Si $_3$ N $_4$ /n-epi layers. The height of the curled probe tip was measured as a function of the annealing temperature and time. Resistance characteristics of the probe tip were measured using a touchdown test.

    This work reports the theoretical and experimental investigations of capillary bust valves to regulate liquid flow in microchannels. The theoretical analysis uses the Young-Laplace equation and geometrical considerations to predict the pressure at the edge of the valve opening. Numerical simulations are employed to calculate the meniscus shape evolution while the interface is pinned at the valve edge. Microchannels and valves are fabricated using soft lithography. A wafer-rotating system, which can adjust the driving pressure by rotational speed, induces a liquid flow. Experimentally measured valve-bursting pressure agrees with theoretical predictions.

    This paper reports a miniaturized conductor-backed CPW (CBCPW) bandpass filter based on a thin film polyimide layer coated on CMOS-grade silicon. With a 20 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ -thick polyimide interface layer and back metallization on the CMOS-grade silicon, the interaction of electromagnetic fields with the lossy silicon substrate has been isolated, and as a result a low-loss and low-dispersive CBCPW line has been obtained. Measured attenuation constant at 20 GHz is below 1.2 ㏈/cm, which is compatible with the CPW on GaAs. In addition, by using the proposed CBCPW geometry, miniaturized BPF for Ku band application is designed and its measured frequency response shows excellent agreement with the predicted value with validating the performances of the proposed CBCPW geometry for RFIC interconnects and filter applications.

    This paper presents the fabrication and test of a micro cell exciter actuated by an electromagnetic force for the study on the chondrogenic differentiation of rabbit mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). The micro cell exciter is designed to apply compressive loading to the alginate gel mixed with the MSCs. The magnetic cell exciter consists of an actuator component and a cartridge-type chamber component. An actuator is composed of a permanent magnet, a core and a coil. The chamber has seven PMMA wells and a cell culture Petri dish. Two types of alginate gels were stimulated by the cell exciters for 10 minutes every 12 hours for 7 days. In order to determine the expression of these matrix components during differentiation, RT-PCR analysis was performed. Collagen type II was expressed in the MSCs subjected to the compressive stimulation.

    Thin films of single phase, polycrystalline silicon germanium (Si $_{1-x}$ Ge $_{x}$ ) were prepared by ion-beam evaporation (IBE) using Si-Ge multi-phase targets. After irradiation of the targets by a pulsed light ion beam with peak energy of 1 MV, 450 and 480 nm thick films were deposited on Si single crystal and quartz glass substrates, respectively. From XRD analysis, the thin films consisted of a single phase Si $_{1-x}$ Ge $_{x}$ , whose composition is close to those of the targets.rgets.
