    초록

    These days, Home Economics in Korea is confronted with the inner argument about its identity and the outer pressure of re-organization caused by educational reformation. Fundamentally, these internal and external challenges to Home Economics arise from that Home Economics has not been fulfilling the needs of individuals and families due to weakening of integrate perspective, insufficient practice and conservative tendency of study. To get over the current problems and construct a new paradigm of Home Economics contributing to the requirements of new era, the following prerequisites might be fulfilled; \circled1 More active concern about surmounting the alienation that threatening the modern family life and self-actualization of individuals. \circled2 An endeavor to find a new family philosophy and patterns of family culture as the basis of community restoration that harmonize the traditions with changes. \circled3 An Effort to find a highter values that contribute to symbiosis and development of global community including all human beings, creatures and eco-system on the earth.

    초록

    The purpose of this study is to develop the educational program of consumer adviser. The educational program proposed in previous study is consisted of the acquisition of 5 require and 2 optional subjects, and field education. For this, based on the role and capacity of consumer adviser we explain in detail the contents of required subjects. And we confirm the necessity and significance of field education. Finally we investigate the confirm the necessity and significance of field education. Finally we investigate the contents of field education and suggest the system and course of desirable field education through case study of several universities.

    초록

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between abused (physical, emotional & neglect) children and their peer relationships and personality. The subjects were 320 fifth graders from the low-middle class of families in Seoul. The data were gathered by questionnaires and peer nomination method. The major findings of the present study were as follow : (1) Children were physically abused mainly by their fathers, and neglected mainly by their mothers. (2) The significant differences in both peer relationships and personality were found according to the type of abuse. Physically abused children were viewed as either a neglected child or a aggressively rejected child who shows higher activity and impulsivity. But emotionally abused and/or neglected children were perceived as a neglected child who shows lower sociablity. (3) There were statistically significant differences in personality among sociometric status groups.

    초록

    The purposes of this study were to investigate the children's attachment patterns and the effects of the family-related variables. The interview method was used to know the children's attachment patterns and the questionnaire was used to collect the family-related variables. The subjects were 272 elementary school children ranged 1st grade to 3rd grade in Kwangju. The results were as follows: 1. In the contexts of separation from mother, two major patterns of children's attachment appeared : patterns showed much anxious feeling but accepted the separation; patterns showed much anxious feeling and they rejected the separation. These two patterns were consisted in anxious feeling but inconsisted in responses. 2. Children showed significant differences in their attachment patterns to their mother's early attachment patterns to their mothers, maternal employment, SES of the family, and sex of the child were not found.

    초록

    Ther purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptual differences in brand images of national medium-low price casual clothing according to purchase volume and brand loyalty. Additionally, differences between Seoul and County of Chungnam in purchase volume of each brand of medium-low priced casual, information source and companion in purchasing the brands were analyzed. The questionnaires were administered to 540 college student living in Seoul and County of Chungnam, and the method used to analyze the data were frequency, factor analysis, and t-test. The results were as follows: 1) Perceptual mapping showed that preference ranks among the six brands were same regardless of purchase volume and brand loyalty, but heavy users and loyal consumers to medium-low priced casual brands had more favorite brand image than light users and non loyal consumers. 2) Those who live in County of Chungnam purchased all six brands more than those who love in Seoul with the exception of Hunt. Information sources such as catalogs and celebrity were more used in County of Chungnam. Most accompanied shopping alone both in Seoul and County of Chyngnam, however family members were more influential in Seoul, whereas the same sex friends were in County of Chyngnam.

    초록

    The purposes of this study are to investigate the determinants of household demand for credit and to test the effects of credit outstandings and credit repayments on consumption expenditures. To investigate the relationship between credit use and consumption expenditures, a theoretical consumption expenditure model including credit outstandings and credit repayments is developed. With 1991 Report of National Survey of Family Income and Expenditure, two empirical models are tested using OLS. The results show that household demand for credit is determined by household income, debt burden, household size, age and squared age of household head and ratio of home ownership. It is also found that credit outstandings affect consumption expenditures positively while credit repayments affect consumption expenditures negatively.

    초록

    The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of sex role orientation on the amount of time spent in meal preparation and cleanup, clothing care, and indoor cleaning accomplished by husbands and wives in couple-headed households in the U.S.. The overall research hypotheses examined were : (1) there is a relationship between demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the husband and wife and the sex role orientation of the husband and wife; (2) for both husbands and wives, there is a relationship between sex role orientation and the amount of household production time that is accomplised by each individual; and (3) the relationship between sex role orientation and the amount of household production time remains when demographic and socioeconomic factors are controlled. The 1981 data from the 1975-1981 Time Use Longitudinal Panel Study collected at the University of Michigan were used for this study. The major findings is that a relationship between sex role orientation and the amount of time spent in three household production activities was not found, when all independent variables were controlled. That is, sex activities was not found, when all independent variables were controlled. That is, sex role orientation was not a predictor affecting the amount of time that husbands and wives spend on meal preparation and cleanup, clothing care, and indoor cleaning.

    초록

    The purpose of the study was to investigate the causal relationships between communication situation - communication apprehension(CA), family communication orientation(FCO), individual viewing motives and perceived realism of aggressive films - and aggression. The data from 193 high school students were analysed by SAS program. The respondents were asked to complete the self-report questionnaires, and the data were analysed by Cronbach's to the reliability, factor analysis, frequencies, percentage, means, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Duncan's multiple test, multiple regression, and path analysis, The results showed that CA was positively related to both aggression against the materials, and potential aggression. FCO had no direct effect on aggression but concept-oriented family affected indirect effect on aggression through viewing motives. The ritualistic motives were more positively related to aggression and identity than instrumental motive.

    The purpose of this study was (1) to investigate the level of environmentally conscious consumer behavior and support on the environmental regulation, and (2) to identify the influencing variables and causal relationship. Data were collected from questionnares with 1050 male and female consumers who were in the age of 20∼49 and residents of 6 cities(Seoul, Pusan, Taegu, Kwangju, Taejoen, Inchon). The major findings were as follows: (1) The level of environmentally conscious behavior was relatively high and differed significantly according to sex, age, education and marital status. (2) The level of support on the environmental regulation measures, consumers' support on the company regulation measures was most strong. (4) Sex, age, marital status, environment awareness and environmentally conscious behavior had positive effects on consumers' support on the environmental regulation directly and indirectly.

    This report deals with the relations between the vibration restraint and the stress-strain properties of the stretch fabrics. For this purpose, a survey was carried out about the preferences in sports-brassiere. Six experimental sports-brassieres of an equal design, but of different materials were tested for vibration using an accelerometer and a motion analyzer while the subject is jogging. 1. The results of the survey on sports-brassiere preferences are as follows; Preferable factors are simple design, shield and close adhesion of sports brassiere. Dissatisfied factors on the sports-brassiere are drooping, vibrating of the breast, itching and wetting. The B-cup-size group perceive the bigger vibration and drooping than A-cup-size. 2. The results of the wearing tests are as follow; This experiment shows the vibration restraint effects on different stretch fabrics, such as hard, medium and soft nature. There was a linear relationship between the vibration restraint and combination of different types of stretch fabrics. Among different brassiere types, the 2-layered brassiere (inner layer of high tension fabric and outer layer of lower stretch fabric) showed the least vibration. In the case of 2-lay brassiere, the wearing comfort rate was highest.
