    초록

    In order to solve the shortage of roughage supply for dairy farm in Korea, the mechanized model system for the production of winter cereal wrap silage in the fellow paddy field was developed in the previous studies. In this study, storage properties after long term storing of the winter cereal wrap silage were investigated. Also, the qualities of the wrap silage which was stored during 4 months were evaluated by sensory testings, analyzing chemical properties(moisture content, pH and organic acids) and investigating the increase of feeding value. The result of this study were summarized as follows; 1. After 300 hours storage, the acid level of the silage decreased slowly to 4.6 -4.8 pH. Also, the temperature was stabilized around 27-28 $^{\circ}C$ . The silage having below 5.0 pH is a desirable level for the most of good silage. 2. According to the sensory test and chemical property analyzation it was evaluated as the first class silage like a com silage. 3. Also, when the wrap silage are fed to the cattle, the cattle produced milk more 25% than that of conventional feed. 4. As an overall conclusion, winter cereal wrap silage in the fallow paddy field cm be one of the major roughage source in replacement of com and other conventional silage to dairy cattle in Korea.

    초록

    Soil stresses were measured beneath the centerline of one new 12.4R28 radial-ply tractor tire. The tire was operated with three inflation pressures(59㎪ 108㎪ and 157㎪) and a dynamic load of 14.2 kN and 20% slip. Soil stress state transducer(SST) measured the stresses in a hardpan soil profile. The depth of the SST was 250mm from soil surface. Analysis of the original soil stress data showed that the inflation pressure of tire did significantly affect the vertical stress. The major principal stresses calculated were more when the inflation pressure was 108㎪ than when it was 157㎪. The peak stresses of the major principal stresses presented more than those of the vertical stresses.

    초록

    This study was conducted to develop a coating system for producing clean enriched rice. The nutritional components of such as brown rice, white rice, clean white rice, enriched rice of US, black rice of China, and rice with perfume of China, were analyzed and compared. Total protein lipid md minerals in brown rice were higher than those in the other rices. A nutrition premix with lysine, thiamine, niacine, calcium lactate, ferrous lactate, and rice starch was made for enriching white rice. A coating device consisted of a tumbler, two spraying nozzles, a rice mixer, etc was developed with the capacity of 1 ton/h. And far-infrared dryers of batch and continuous types were developed to dry hygienically the wet enriched rice. The percentages of lysine, thiamine, amino acid nitride, and Ca and Fe of the enriched rice samples produced in this study were, respectively, 4, 3, 3. 2, and 10 times higher than those of white rice, respectively.

    초록

    This study was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of identifying freshness of beef using a surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor based electronic nose. The beef was stored at 5 $^{\circ}C$ and aroma was measured with the passage of time. Chromatographic analysis of the odor showed that number of volatile components and their amounts were rapidly increased after 19 days of storage. Classifying beefs according to their storage days was possible using principle component analysis (PCA). Classifying beefs processed from four different origins was also possible with PCA analysis of odor. This study shows that electronic nose can be applied to beef freshness evaluation and classification of its origin.

    초록

    A surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensing system, which belonged to a family of thin film refractometry-based sensors, was fabricated to measure the alcohol contents in alcoholic beverages. In this study, a SPR owe was obtained by a photodiode array with 128 pixels and transformed into a refractive index which was calculated by means of the first moment of values below a baseline of 0.85. When the sensing system was applied to Soju, Cheonju, Igwaduju and Tacju highly linear relationships between the refractive index by SPR and the contents of alcohol were obtained. That is, the coefficients of determination in their linear models were 0.992, 0.933, 0.918 and 0.954, respectively. Meanwhile, the effect of sample preparations on the accuracy of measurement was analyzed. As for Soju and Tacju, the best calibration equations were obtained when no sample preparation was applied. The best calibration models for measurement of Cheonju and Igwaduju were obtained through the samples filtered by $C_{18}$ disks.

    This study was conducted to investigate the characteristics of transmittance spectrum of Korean red ginseng using VIS/NIR spectroscopy. The results of this study were as follows; Light intensity affected the characteristics of the spectrum. For over 40% light intensity, the first and second peaks appeared at 700nm and 1,100nm, respectively. For the 20% light intensity, the first and second peaks appeared at 800nm and 1,100nm, respectively. Thus, the typical color characteristics of halogen lamp were similar to each other if over 40% of maximum light intensity power, otherwise it was not. Transmittance spectrum showed different characteristics at different portions of red ginseng. Normal red ginseng showed strong intensity at the first peak around 700nmbecause of reddish internal tissue. However, an internal white core red ginseng showed weak peak-intensity due to whitish internal tissue. There was no significant difference in the second peak at 800nm for the different internal qualities. Third peak at 900nm showed somewhat difference by internal qualities but it was difficult to find significant trend. To separate the differences of the internal qualities, intensity differences between peaks were used. It was possible to classify normal red ginseng by the differences of "peak 1 -peak 2" and "peak 1 - peak 3". In addition, shift of the first and the third peaks in the spectrum could separate normal red ginseng from others.ginseng from others.

    This study was conducted to evaluate the internal quality of Korean red ginseng using VIS/NIR transmittance spectra. To classify the internal qualities, partial least squares(PLS) regression was conducted. The main results are as follows: To develop the PLS model, several wave bands were divided and incorporated into the model. Among the bands, the wavelength range of 550-1,020nm, excluded noise signal, showed the best evaluation results. Effect of step size on the performance of quality evaluation showed optimal at 15 steps. In order to enhance the accuracy of quality evaluation, the abnormal spectrum shape was considered first and then the PLS model was applied. Among the 150 samples, 12 samples were evaluated by the spectrum shape. In this study, to develop the optimal PLS regression model, among the 150 samples, 138 samples was used with exception of 12 samples which could evaluate the spectrum shape. The result of quality evaluation was promising as SEC and correlation coefficient were 1.09 and 0.967, respectively, and SEP and correlation coefficient were 1.04 and 0.958, respectively.

    Recent livestock people concern not only increase of production, but also superior quality of animal-breeding environment. So far, the optimization of the breeding and air environment has been focused on the production increase. In the very near future, the optimization will be emphasized on the environment for the animal welfare and health. Especially, cattle farming demands the precision livestock farming and special attention has to be given to the management of feeding, animal health and fertility. The management of individual animal is the first step for precision livestock farming and animal welfare, and recognizing each individual is important for that. Though electronic identification of a cattle such as RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) has many advantages, RFID implementations practically involve several problems such as the reading speed and distance. In that sense, computer vision might be more effective than RFID for the identification of an individual animal. The researches on the identification of cattle via image processing were mostly performed with the cows having black-white patterns of the Holstein. But, the native Korean and Japanese cattle do not have any definite pattern on the body. The purpose of this research is to identify the Japanese black cattle that does not have a body pattern using computer vision technology and neural network algorithm. Twelve heads of Japanese black cattle have been tested to verify the proposed scheme. The values of input parameters were specified and then computed using the face images of cattle. The images of cattle faces were trained using associate neural network algorithm, and the algorithm was verified by the face images that were transformed using brightness, distortion, and noise factors. As a result, there was difference due to transform ratio of the brightness, distortion, and noise. And, the proposed algorithm could identify 100% in the range from -3 to +3 degrees of the brightness, from -2 to +4 degrees of the distortion, and from 0% to 60% of the noise transformed images. It is concluded that our system can not be applied in real time recognition of the moving cows, but can be used for the cattle being at a standstill.
