    The objectives of this study were to investigate the effectiveness of rubber as an engine mount of walking-type cultivators and to determine its optimal spring constant and damping coefficient using a dynamic simulation of the engine mount system. Four different types of rubber mounts were tested to determine their spring constants and damping coefficients, and the best type was selected for the isolation of the engine vibrations transmitted to the handle. The total vibration levels transmitted to the handle when the rubber mounts weren't installed were 17.52 $m/s^2$ . The total vibration levels transmitted to the handle when the rubber mounts were installed were 10.69 $m/s^2$ for Stripe 1, 11.33 $m/s^2$ for Stripe 2, 10.92 $m/s^2$ for Stripe 3 and 14.19 $m/s^2$ for Hive, respectively, resulting in an average of $30\%$ reduction when compared with that without the engine mount. A dynamic model of the cultivator's engine-mount system and its simulation program were developed and verified. A method was proposed to determine the optimal spring constant and damping coefficient of the engine-mount system. It was found from the simulation that a spring constant of 4,100 kN/m and the largest damping coefficient were the most effective for the vibration isolation.

    초록

    Most of tractors in the world have manual gear transmission, and some of small tractors have hydrostatic trans-mission(HST). Since the HST is expensive and has low power efficiency, it is being used for only small garden tractors. The continuously variable transmission(CVT) is an alternative to the HST or power-shift gear transmissions. The driver of the CVT tractor doesn't have to operate a shift lever since the CVT controller automatically controls the speed of tractor. Thus, it is much easier to operate the CVT tractor. For the easy and stable control of the CVT tractor, an appropriate control algorithm should be developed and the dynamic modeling should be carried out before making the prototype of CVT controller. This study was conducted to develop a simulation model of the CVT control system needed to develop a PID control algorithm. The simulation model consisted of variator dynamics, hydraulic system and control computer. And the simulation model was verified by experiment. The results obtained in this study can be utilized in the design of CVT tractors for practical use, but a lot of field tests and improvement of softwares would be necessary.

    초록

    There are several different types of continuously variable transmission(CVT) such as toroidal drive, belt drive, hydrostatic drive, hydro-mechanical drive. The toroidal CVT is an alternative to the manual transmission, HST, power-shift gear trans-missions or other CVTs. The driver of the CVT tractor doesn't have to operate a shia lever since the CVT controller automatically controls the speed of tractor. Thus, it is much easier to operate the CVT tractor. The fuel efficiency of CVT tractor can be increased since the controller responds quickly to the change in external load on the wheel during field operation. This study was conducted to develop the hardwares and softwares for the toroidal CVT controller which control the variator and the range clutches. The hardware consisted of a measurement system, hydraulic system and computer. And the PID controller was developed using the simulation model of the CVT control system. Through the simulation, the control coefficients for the PID controller were selected. Finally, the performance of the CVT control system was evaluated by step response test and torque response test. The settling time of the CVT control system appeared to be fast enough for field operations.

    초록

    In this study, a series of soil bin experiment was carried out to investigate experimentally the effect of the tire inflation pressure and axle load of tire on the steering torque for the off-road condition. The experiment was performed at the three levels of off-road conditions(ground I, ground II and ground III) and on-road condition(ground IV), four levels of tire inflation pressure(120 kPa, 170 kPa, 220 kPa and 270 kPa), and four levels of axle load(1470N, 1960N, 2450N and 2940N). The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. Steering torque at the off-road conditions were higher than that on the on-road conditions for all levels of tire inflation pressure and axle load. 2. As the axle load increased, steering torque also increased f3r all experimental ground conditions. 3. For the axle load of 1470N the biggest steering torque was measured on the ground condition I, but as the axle load increased to the value of 2940N the biggest steering torque was measured on the ground condition III. From the above results, it was found that for the low axle load, steering torque gets higher on the soft ground condition, but for the high axle load, steering torque gets higher on hard ground condition for whole range of experimental conditions. 4. As the tire inflation pressure decreased, steering torque increased on the on-road condition, but no specific trend was not found at the off-road conditions.

    초록

    In harvesting rice and barley using combine, the inclination of the body caused by the irregular surface condition of the field and the soil sinking from the unbalanced weight during the grain collection used to make harvesting operation difficult and even impossible. To overcome such a problem hydraulic system far automatic and manual leveling control of a combine has been developed. The system was composed of the combine body and the hydraulic level control system mounted on it. The maximum height of ground clearance was set up to be 290mm. And the limit angle of the leveling control was set up to be $\pm7^{\circ}$ . The proposed controller and hydraulic system was implemented to the prototype combine. The prototype combine was designed and built as a separable structure with the body and the track of it. This paper shows results of a specification and design testing with the hydraulic level control system far body of combine.

    Worldwide consumption of vegetable soybean has been increasing recently, but in the process of vegetable soybean production, threshing and separation work accounts fur about $80\%$ of overall labor. Therefore, developing of the vegetable soybean thresher is necessary to reduce the cost of labor. The main objective of this study is to acquire the basic in-formations for design of the vegetable soybean thresher which is suitable for domestic circumstances. We made the experimental system to investigate the threshing and separating performance at the several speeds of threshing cylinder and separating blower according to the kinds of threshing tooth. The result are as follows; Threshing performance of vegetable soybean thresher was shown as the best in case the threshing tooth made of rubber which has the 80 of Shore hardness was used at the circumference speed of cylinder of 5.8 $\~$ 8.1m/s. Also separating cleaning performance of vegetable soybean thresher was shown as the best at more than 1,300 rpm of blower speed and $60\~80\%$ of opening ratio of suction port.

    This study was performed to estimate mid and long term demands of a tractor, a rice transplanter, a combine and a grain dryer by using logistic curve function and Markov chain model. Field survey was done to decide some parameters far logistic curve function and Markov chain model. Ceiling values of tractor and combine fer logistic curve function analysis were 209,280 and 85,607 respectively. Based on logistic curve function analysis, total number of tractors increased slightly during the period analysed. New demand for combine was found to be zero. Markov chain analysis was carried out with 2 scenarios. With the scenario 1(rice price $10\%$ down and current supporting policy by government), new demand for tractor was decreased gradually up to 700 unit in the year 2012. For combine, new demand was zero. Regardless of scenarios, the replacement demand was increased slightly after 2003. After then, the replacement demand is decreased after the certain time. Two analysis of logistic owe function and Markov chain model showed the similar trend in increase and decrease for total number of tractors and combines. However, the difference in numbers of tractors and combines between the results from 2 analysis got bigger as the time passed.

    초록

    To establish a Altari radish pre-processing system far kimchi, the leaves and root tail of the Altari radish cutting de-vices were developed. The cutting resistances depend on the edge angles, oblique angles and cutting speeds were measured and analyzed. The experiments were performed to reveal the optimal conditions that showed the minimum cutting resistances acting on the materials. As the results, the optimum conditions that acting on the leaves were at edge angle $25^{\circ}$ , oblique angle $40^{\circ}$ and cutting speed 0.5 m/s, and those acting on the root tails were at edge angle $20^{\circ}$ , oblique angle $30^{\circ}$ and cutting speed 0.5 m/s, respectively. Considered a safety conception, the oblique angle of the leaves cutting device was adjusted as $20^{\circ}$ , and then the cutting efficiencies of the both devices at these conditions were showed perfect performances.

    Novel porous composite ceramic bone scaffolds composed of biodegradable PHBV(polyhydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) and TA(toothapatite) have been fabricated for bone tissue engineering by a modified solvent casting and particulate leach-ing method with salt-contained heat compression technique. The results of this study suggest that the PHBV-TA composite scaffold, especially the scaffold containing 30 weight $\%$ of TA may be a good candidate far bone tissue engineering of non-load bearing area in oral and maxillofacial region.

    This study was to investigate the biomechanical characteristics of isoflavone-treated ovariectomized growing rat's femur. 4-week-old Wistar (female rats were randomly divided into 5 groups and assigned to sham(SH) group, and four ovariectomized groups consisting of one ovariectomized(OVX) group and genisetin(10 mg/kg b.w. )(OVX+G), daidzein(10 mg/kg b.w.)(OVX+D), and 17 $\beta$ -estradiol(10 $\mu$ g/kg b.w.)(OVX+ES) in AIN-76 modified diet for 8 weeks. The OVX groups gained more body weight than the SH group. Femoral weight was increased by feeding genistein and estradiol, whereas femoral length among groups was not significantly different. The breaking farce, stiffness, deformation, and energy values of the OVX group were lower than those of other groups. The stress, strain, and Young's modulus values of the OVX group were higher than those of other groups.
