    초록

    Western societies focus on the education and training about good and high skills and techniques for secretaries, but in reality in the Korean society, individual personalities and humane characters for secretaries are basically emphasized. The recent research projects on the roles of secretaries beyond doubt show the finding, This means that it is necessary to establish the study of secretaries suitable and appropriate to the Korean context as well as to meet the new and special demand for secretaries in the market. This study aims to show the detailed and particular educational adequacies and directions for improving basic human personalities and humanities. For this purpose, firstly, I would like to look at and reconsider the existing ways of teaching, materials, and contexts for educating and training secretaries. Next, this study examines problems and processes related to the existing education and training for secretaries in the regard to humane education. Lastly, it investigates humanity-centered direction for educating secretaries in terms of human disposition and their educations in practices.

    초록

    The developments of information technology based upon computers and the tele-communication have accelerated the paradigm shift in the educational system. Web based training in firms, which is similar to e-learning or virtual education, provides trainees with more education opportunities in diverse ways. It has developed a range of innovative services with an one-stop solution of education within the electronic sector. Also under the web based training environment, trainees can undertake customized training packages at anytime and any places. Moreover, information technology allows both the trainers and trainees to be decoupled in any of the elements of time, place, and space. The purpose of this study was to investigate the determinants affecting the training effectiveness in web based training program for secretaries. Based on the previous literature conducted on the traditional training environment, the determinants of training effectiveness are derived. Training program components(trainer, trainee, content, system design) and organizational support that were supposed to affect the training effectiveness in web based environments were chosen by the literature review. The relationship between determinants and training performance(learning, training transfer) are summarized by research model in this paper.

    초록

    In 1990, Women Secretaries, who mainly came from junior colleges, have contributed to enhance the efficiency and the capability to compete in non-government area. However, they only participate in very limited fields doing trivial and routine work as a secretary. Lately the Korean administration issued a plan called "Employing Women Upto 20%" in order to put the highly-educated women in use. In my opinion, enlargement of employing women secretaries should be also considered as the plan goes. For doing so, I show the present status of women secretaries in the central government and the method of increasing the numbers. Most of the today"s women secretaries were recruited as technical official in 1970s. The minister can have two assistants, - as 7 rate privileged government position and the other as 9 rate privileged government position - with in the alloted number. Generally, 7 rate privileged government position is for a driver and 9 rate privileged government position is for a woman secretary. Within the woman secretary is not available within the reach of the alloted number limitation, minister hires one as a technical official. In the bureau of the minister, there are two women secretaries due to the large amount of work, not because of the various work. What woman secretary does in very special and different from what others do. Therefore at this point, the enlargement of women secretaries in the central government should be phased in as follows. The first stage : Request the education of women secretaries to the government The secretary association needs to develop program regarding the women secretary education with the administration and train them through the program. In this course, both the specialization of the woman secretary and the charge of misconception on the woman secretary are able to be attained. The second stage : Establishment of the woman secretary career in technical official. When the year of 2005 comes, there will be a lot of job openings from the retirement of the current office assistances. Hence, the government needs to fill the job with someone who has qualified as 3 rate secretary. The third stage : Establishment of the public entrance examination for 9ㆍ7ㆍ5 rate secretary position. Women secretaries in technical official should work for simple duties, in 9-6 rate secretary for original secretary duties and above 5 rate secretary for policy making duties.

    초록

    국제화된 비즈니스 환경에서 비서의 영작문 실력은 업무에서 중요한 역할을 차지하며 이를 위한 효과적인 영작문 학습법 개발이 요구된다. 지금까지 영작문 연구는 학생들이 쓴 작문의 형식에 중점을 둔 작문 평가법이 주요 연구의 대상이었지만 본 연구에서는 1980년대부터 활발하게 연구된 과정중심의 작문법 연구로 영어를 외국어로 학습하는 제2언어 작문법연구와 이를 바탕으로 한 효과적인 작문 학습법을 논의한다. 특히 비즈니스 영작문 수엽에서 학습 가능한 작문 학습법의 실질적 적용 방안을 제시한다. 본 연구는 앞으로 EFL 비즈니스 영작문 수업의 효과적인 학습법 개발을 위한 계속적인 연구 가능성을 시사한다.

    The primary purpose of this study is to suggest the effective linkage scheme between curriculum for secretarial department in college and qualifying examinations in order to increase student"s employment rate and competency of secretarial department in college. There are several objectives to fulfill this study : Firstly, to identify the necessity and feasibility of links between two-year college education and qualification system by literature review. Secondly, to identify the current condition of links between secretarial departments in college and national qualification exams by analyzing their curriculum. Thirdly, by questionnaire survey, to analyze student"s achievement rate, interest level and needs of curriculum operation in qualification achievement. Finally, to suggest curriculum operations for the effective linkage between secretarial department and related qualification. The results of this study by literature review and questionnaire survey are summarized below: 1. The students of secretarial department are interested in achievement for national qualification.. But in fact, there are a few student who achieves wanted national qualification. 2. Therefore, secretarial department should establish helpful service system to provide students with various information about wanted qualifications. 3. Curriculum in relevant qualifications should be enhanced for achievement in qualifications. As result of survey, it was proved what students need and want. 4. The secretarial department should prepare institutional regulations for those who have achievement in wanted qualifications. For example, acknowledging the achievement as credits.

    초록

    Professionalisms in the secretary educations and trainings have been discussed in accordance with changes in industrial paradigms and with emphasizing the importances of informations. General understandings over secretary as a job, however, are not still favorable to the in the institutional system areas. This paper suggests a scheme to improve recognition for professional secretary in the institutional systems. The main suggestions have two parts. One is usage of the vocational training systems in Korea. The other is introduction of the certification of key skills as a professional secretary, for example "Certified Professional Secretary". The former has been carried out in Korea is one of the policy efforts to coordinate the roles between the public and private sectors and to provide workers with a variety of opportunities for job skills development. The latter is not put into operated yet. Although it may be incorporated into the qualification system or the existing college/university curriculum, the defects of previous systems point in the direction of a separate operation. We can bring up and supply competitive secretaries to the institutional areas using by above two systems. We can also substantiate the qualification systems related secretary areas by Korean Association of Secretarial Studies. All of these efforts improve recognition and enhance status of the secretary as a professional vocations.

    초록

    The following is a summary of the needs for systematic articulation curricula: - To minimize overlapping curricula by defining the educational level at which various skills should be taught to increase opportunities for higher vocational education for retraining, to increase the quality and efficiency of instruction, to link two educational levels so that students can make a smooth transition from one level to another without delays, duplication of course work, or loss of credit The purpose of the study was to provide framework for the development of articulation curricula between commercial high schools and junior colleges focusing on the secretarial area. The study examined the case of USA, the current curricula in eight commercial high schools in Korea, and the related materials provided overall guideline for building an articulation curriculum This articulated curricula follows 2+2 structured program to incorporate academic and vocational course work in the secretary related area According to the examination of overlapping curricula, courses are sequenced and identify necessary skills. Articulation organizes the curriculum content into basic and advance competencies. Basic skills are taught at the high school level, and advanced skills are taught at the junior college level. Through articulation agreements, systematic procedure should be listed. Written agreements formalize programs of study, the acceptance or transfer of articulated courses among institutions, development of course materials, and the role of high school and junior college instructors. Curriculum development teams of teachers, faculty, and industrial representatives should work closely to evaluate present curriculum problem, establish standards and assess the sequence and content of courses. Further research into curricula articulation should also involve students, teachers, and faculties to get their perceptions about the curricula articulation, which could improve the quality of both commercial high schools and junior colleges. There is also nero for research to assess current articulation efforts to determine the critical factors for success. This information will help related group to develop more effective articulation agreements.

    초록

    The proliferation of Internet has created fast growing electronic channels for language learning. Due to the nature of electronic channels, however, not all language education services are satisfying for language learning, The purpose of this study is to explore Korean college students" affective experiences of on-line English language learning and to suggest steps to develop an effective WBT program in ESP. Variables related to on-line language learning experience were first collected using an open-ended questionnaire. Based on the key words obtained from the initial analyses, a structured questionnaire was constructed. Internal reliabilities were also assessed of the factors included in the instrument. Participants were asked to rate the service quality that they minimally require, the service quality that they currently experience, and the service quality they want at the maximum level. Top five and low five items were compared on participants" ratings of minimum required service quality, current service quality, and maximum service quality. In addition, stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed to find out significant affecting factor on learner"s satisfaction on the current service quality. Findings are discussed in light of developing an effective WBT program in ESP.

The system shown in the paper is successful in supplying those involved in the work of the business card management when and where it is needed. In the future research there is a need for a more comprehensive research integrating the following fields of information : ① creation or receipt ② classification ③ storage and protection ④ use ⑤ transfer and ⑤ deletion.
