    초록

    Developing the company"s own competition ability has been the core issue in the modem society as the information society has come and global competition has started. Therefore, each company has developed a management reformation method and has been applying it and trying to find strategies to establish the organizational effectiveness in order to compete with other companies. This study tries to testify that supervisory trust through the secretaries" organizational justice perception creates organizational effectiveness and this study provides organizations with some devices to increase supervisor"s and organizational effectiveness as well. The result from the study is as follows: 1) The higher the recognition of distributive justice and procedural justice were, the level of organizational commitment and pay satisfaction were high. 2) In the effectiveness of organizational commitment by distributive justice and procedural justice, supervisory trust showed strong intermediate effects. The implications and the limitations of these results, and the direction for future study were discussed.

    초록

    The purpose of this study was to research the college students" perceptions on business manners and to find out implications for improving the business education in colleges. For this survey, 300 subjects were sampled among the college students in Chungchung area by their majors and grades. The 227 respondents replied for the questionnaire and then the rate of collection was 75%. The questionnaire was consisted of 45 items and most of them, except 5 general questions, were made with Likert type scale. SPSS 10.0 was used for data analysis and statistical methods such as frequency, mean and ANOVA were applied for it. The research results are summarized as belows. (1) Depending on the Paired t-test, discrepancies of perception between degree of importance and mistake experience on business manner items were significant in all of 15 items(with p<.01). (2) Perceptions of importance degree on the business manner items were significantly different by age and grade, but there were no significant differences by sex, residential area and major(with p<.05). (3) Respondents felt that other person more hurt their feeling or troubled them than they did it to others. The experience on others" rudeness was 3.25, on the other hand, the degree on their own rudeness was 2.43(with full marks =5). (4) According to this survey results, parents were the most important resources of manner education for their son or daughters. (5) Business manner is one of the basic job skills for colleges" graduates. So, each colleges should have a deep concern on the education for business manners and give their students the opportunities to learn business manners.

    초록

    The primary purpose of this study is to report and discuss the multifunctional roles and competencies of team secretaries in team-based organization, especially in foreign companies, and to suggest how to improve the level of role performance. The objectives of this study are (a) to define multifunctional roles and competencies of team assistants, (b) to measure the level of role performance and job competency, and (c) to investigate required core competencies for each role. For this purpose, the study is conducted in two research stages; one is qualitative research, and the other is quantitative research. According to the findings of the analysis, team assistants now perform many formal and informal roles. Their multi-roles are defined as 18 roles and team assistants need 28 competencies to perform the roles by the content analysis. Especially, knowledge-sharing skills are found to influence the 6 roles of team assistants as a core competency. To improve the level of each role performance, team assistants should strategically develop core competencies" for the role. The findings of the study can be considered to design a role-education program for high performance of team assistants. However, limitations of this study are (a) the snowball sampling methodology used, (b) the concept of 'team assistant' not firmly fixed. Suggestions for the future research are offered.

    초록

    The dominant economic model of today is the service economy, and it is important for most companies, especially service firms, to manage the business for customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to research and analyze the needs of the business for service education and to propose new method of business manners education in junior college. To achieve this goal, literature survey and telephone interviews have been used. Through the literature survey, the meanings of service, the service quality, and the curriculum of the service academy have been examined. The telephone interviews with 20 persons, who are CEOs, teachers, doctors, and worker of insurance companies were conducted for this study to get the importance on contents of business manners education. The results are summarized as follows: 1) define a goal of business manners education. Business manners education improves customer satisfaction; attitude, manners, and etiquette of businessperson. 2) suggest a new curriculum of business manners education. 3) develop a model of the laboratory for service education. 4) demand train for customer satisfaction service mind. 5) provide case study of the successful service firms. 6) propose the method of team-teaching.

    초록

    Development of information technology and globalization influence overall society including industry, market, and education in colleges. These make business services including personnel- supply services the largest and fastest growing division. Also, these affect the role and work scope of the secretary. Employers demand that their secretaries be skilled in new and emerging technology, provide broader skills beyond the traditional scope of the secretary, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. The interpersonal skills can include effective listening, good writing, strong negotiating and oral communication skills. The trend affects job training of the secretary and curriculum in the college. The educational development and the curricular improvement of secretarial studies in domestic junior colleges were evaluated and analyzed to find an optimum curriculum for secretarial studies in the information-oriented and globalized society. By analyzing the data during the last 17 years, it was found that the above tendency had a positive effect on secretarial studies in domestic junior colleges. The major of secretarial studies in domestic junior colleges had increased very rapidly in 1990s according to industrial and societal changes such as the above trend. It first opened in Ewha Womans University in 1968 and opens in 27 junior colleges in 2002. Especially it has made a remarkable growth in Seoul and the metropolitan area since 1999. It is fixed as the major of vocational and professional training for women in junior colleges. Many studies on the curriculum of secretarial studies were performed in 1990s. Their current curricula in 17 junior colleges were analyzed as the follow-up study of Juwon Lee"s study of 1997. Some secretarial studies, which had opened in 1997 and employed full-time instructor who had majored in secretarial studies, have improved their curricula much better than the others. Also, the importance of information and communication has been reflected in their curricula. All affiliated courses are the worst to improve their curricula and lose their competitiveness as practical job training course in junior colleges.

    초록

    Application of video conferencing in business is increasing together with rapid development of information technology thereof. Accordingly, general comprehension and development of effective ways of supporting video conference system is required of office professional as conference manager. This study aims to comprehend the types of video conference supported by office professional and to investigate concrete details of office administration by interviewing office professionals whose superiors are using the video conference in their business. Finally, it brings out a model of office administration for successful management of video conferencing on the basis of the investigation. The interviews with office professionals prove that continuous management of office professional is demanded since video conference is used regularly and frequently. Further, office administration for video conference management is found to have similarities to face to face conference in the way of performing, and to apply information technology and networking in the management widely. I suggest a model of office administration for effective conference management based on literature review and result of the interviews. This model is classified into three stages, i.e., Days before the video conference, Minutes before the video conference / during conference time, and After the video conference. In particular, this model is appropriate in video conference which lays great emphasis on the stage of 'days before the video conference'.

    초록

    The purpose of this study was to explore an influence of empowerment on job satisfaction and Organizational commitment. Data were collected through questionnaires from 139 secretaries from August 1, 2002 to August 14, 2002. The research data were analyzed using SPSS PC+ programs. The results of the study are summarized as follows. Empowerment influenced job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Among the empowerment factors, meaning, competence, and impact were significant factors that influenced job satisfaction. And among the empowerment factors, competence and self-determination were significant factors that influenced organizational commitment.

    초록

    Ever since secretarial education started in 1968, a full-scale secretarial education began to spread centering on two-year technical colleges in the 1990s. Currently about 30 colleges have secretarial course as one of their curriculums. This indicates that secretarial education has now become a pivotal element in higher education for women. However, secretarial education commonly given at technical-college level in Korea at present has not been able to find palpable answers as to the standing of secretarial education at college. Questions such as “how distinctive is secretarial education as part of college education?” or “what is college-level secretarial education?” have not been answered. Secretarial education at domestic colleges has accomplished quantitative growth so far. However, there is a danger that the growth itself could stop altogether if attempts to achieve qualitative growth is overlooked. This issue is raised against the background that the history of domestic secretarial education is short and the examination of current secretarial trend in Korea has never been carried out. Under this recognition, the current research evaluates by using SWOT analysis the present status of domestic secretarial education primarily given at college level. It analyzes overall assessment of the established secretarial education in more detailed manner based on future prospects. This research presents future prospects taking domestic situation into consideration and future directions in microscopic and macroscopic dimensions. The plans for developing of concrete secretarial education are as follows : A. Internal factors -- ⓐ activating of secretarial education by professional types ⓑ establishment of secretarial education system for elite teachers B. External factors -- ⓐ direction for Korean secretarial science ⓑ adaptation to new circumstances ⓒ constant efforts of the KASS(korean association of secretarial studies) and educational institutions

    초록

    Traditionally, the secretarial role was seen as one of taking notes, writing letters, filing, etc-even making coffee. But today with the era of downsizing and corporate restructuring, layers of middle management may have disappeared from the organizational chart, but their work has not. Instead much of their work has become the responsibility of the management assistant. Today"s management assistant is a totally different person to the secretary of old. As the more traditional tasks of the management assistant disappear, they are being rapidly replaced by jobs requiring many more technological skills and competencies. Most often they work for more than one boss and may even be responsible for a whole team. Administrative assistants are increasingly filling middle management jobs left void by the downsizing. To fulfill the additional roles and responsibilities of today"s management assistant, personnel in this position have had to acquire a whole set of competencies. Today"s office professionals have to be better educated, better informed and more involved in their particular industry. With executives in meeting, traveling globally and working eight hours a day, these new management assistants, office professionals or team administrators delegate authority, support multiple bosses and teams, and handle general management challenges. With increased responsibility and a revolutionized role in the office, today"s management assistant has had to acquire new skills through a life long education. So, the purpose of this study is to suggest an educational program designed to develop a professional secretary"s competencies that can adapt to the business environment immediately when they are employed after graduation.

    초록

    This study analyzed the students" perception of the accounting education in junior college secretarial science-related departments. On the basis of the analysis, the improving directions of accounting education for secretary and improved teaching methods were provided. 360 questionnaires were distributed to 6 junior college sophomores, then collected 314 questionnaires. SPSS statistical package was used for statistical analysis. The results of this survey are as followings: 1. Students studied one lecture of accounting for 3 hours per week on the average. 2. 62.8% of students thought that accounting is difficult. 3. 57% of students exercised computerized accounting system in their classes. 4. Almost students thought that accounting is important factor to adopt a profession. 5. Almost students thought that computerized accounting system education will helpful to work secretary"s job Based on this, I suggested new methodology and contents of accounting for secretaries in order for students to enhance interests and understanding on the subject.
