    초록

    The role of secretary is more important as a management staff in knowledge economy society. This study approaches Knowledge Management Systems (KMS)-based knowledge transfer within a firm for productivity of knowledge workers, especially secretaries or management support staffs. Collecting data from 242 knowledge workers in 81 firms that have adopted KMS, I conducted multiple regression analysis for test data. So I found that absorptive capacity, self-efficacy, work pressure, motivation to adopt, system quality, and knowledge quality are the facilitating factors for successful knowledge transfer with KMS. The important factor of these factors is motivation to adopt. This study calls attention to the importance of the knowledge recipients motivation to adopt knowledge in the KMS-based knowledge transfer process. Non-significant influence of compensa?ion on the motivation to adopt knowledge proposes to take a more profound reconsideration about the reward systems. I also insist that the success of KMS depends on knowledge quality itself as well as system features, and individual factors than organizational factors.

    초록

    Unprecedented social, economic, and technological forces are constantly extending and changing the core of knowledge and the competencies required of students entering the secretarial professions. Secretaries have risen to the challenge of restructuring its strategies to meet the requirements of these new realities, which are at once dynamic and unpredictable. The purpose of this paper is to: (1)delineate the social context and forces that are influencing contemporary society and secretarial professions; (2)articulate secretaries" knowledge base; (3)identify fundamental attitudes necessary for secretarial professionals to navigate nimbly in a fluid environment. The central metaphor of chaos theory and butterfly effect aptly describes these conditions, and this metaphor makes possible to elicit the strategic choice. To accomplish this purpose, survey method was used on Year2000 and Year2002 for secretaries and bosses. Through analyzing these two times surveys : (1)social context and forces were delineated; (2)knowledge base were articulated; and (3)fundamental attitudes were identified. This longitudinal surveys are the critical point of this paper because it makes possible to capture the changes in chaotic environment and to make strategic decisions and actions.

    초록

    For secretaries whose working environments are limited by time and space, it is crucial for the successful achievement for their job to utilize efficiently the on-line resources they need at the specific moment. This leads to prosperity of many on-line secretary communities. Virtual communities are useful places for secretaries to share work experiences, common interests and most of all, obtain information and resources. It is widely agreed that loyalty to the communities is single most important factor for the active management of the virtual communities Another result that this study reveals is that the managing strategies should be planned in consideration of the characteristics of the site the communities are linked. In order to increase members" loyalty to the communities, it is important to apply suitable and plausible strategies to each community, and this study will help to analyze the major factors to be considered to boost up the communities. This study is the first in its kind to analyze factors for managing strategies of virtual communities for secretaries. This thesis treats academically and statistically the factors which contribute the activation of the communities, which had been just discussed on the general and non-academical basis. I hope this study could be used as the base for further studies in this field.

    초록

    The primary purpose of this study was to probe the relationship between job satisfaction and life satisfaction of Secretaries at Korean companies. In order to meet this purpose, the following research questions were analyzed and these were: 1) relationships among personal characteristics variables, job satisfaction and life satisfaction 2) job satisfaction and its impact on life satisfaction 3) causal relationship among job satisfaction and life satisfaction. The sample of this study were 110 secretaries of companies in Seoul. A total of 150 questionnaire were distributed and 110 questionnaires were used in the final analyses. The statistical method used in this research was SPSS 10.0 using reliability test, pearson correlation and multiple regression. The research findings was that job satisfaction was positively related to life satisfaction. The major findings of this study are that it was found that existed significant causal relationships among job satisfaction and life satisfaction of secretaries. Based upon these findings and within limitations of this study, it was concluded that job satisfaction would increase the life satisfaction, finally would influence individual"s overall life satisfaction. The implications of this study are the attempt to explore the relationship of secretaries" job satisfaction between life satisfaction by personal characteristics variables will increase the efficiency of HRM and quality of working life of secretaries.

    초록

    The use of information technology in the field of conferencing is demanded in the view that it is able to communicate with persons who live in distant places without gathering together. At the end of 1990s, the expanding of super-high speed internet network provided possibility to operate a real time conference through internet. The purpose of this study is to suggest the standards for office professionals to use web conferencing efficiently and to determine the type of web conferencing, through the research to way of operation and tools of web conferencing. With a literature study, research to 19 web conferencing sites by internet in Korea and US was carried out. Through the result of time series analysis of the years of 2000 and 2003, this study found the trend of web conferencing; demand for web conferencing is increasing and functions provided for web conferencing are getting more various. Most web conferencing services and softwares have the functions of presentation, file sharing & transmission, whiteboard as well as chatting and voice. This study proposes that office professionals consider the need for distinction from presenter and audience, software installation, web-based desktop videoconferencing, recording, and functions to use in conferencing. As the study organized of web conferencing, it is expected to utilize as a basis for meeting manager planning and preparing web conferencing.

    초록

    With the rapidly increasing demand of necessity of bilingual secretary, this study focuses on the grasp of current bilingual examination system, problems and potential improvements needed in the current 21st century knowledge and information oriented society. Also, this study reviews the current international secretary examination system conducted by the advanced countries which have been around for many years. To improve internal bilingual examination system, primary secretary examination will have some modifications which include adjustments and adaptation of the newly held bilingual system used by other countries. With further improvements upon the American bilingual examination system that was introduced previous year, aggressive advertisement and aid by the professional educational institutions in settlement of this system, we can expect highly qualified professional bilingual secretaries.

    The purpose of this study is (1) to investigate the influences of the quality of LMX(Leader- Member Exchange) on secretary"s job attitude(job satisfaction, intention to turnover, and perception of conflict), and (2) to examine into the moderate effect of the type of followership on the process. The followership of secretary has classified into 5 types; effective followers(21.6%), the pragmatists(32.8%), the conformists(40.3%), alienated followers(O.7%), and passive followers(4.5). Alienated followers and passive followers had been excluded from the analysis because of the small sample size. The results of this study are as follows. First, the quality of LMX has partially influenced on the secretary"s job attitude. The more highly they perceive from the quality of LMX, they would feel more about the job satisfaction and less conflicts. However, differently from the previous literature, the quality of LMX didn"t influence the secretaries with the intention to turnover. Second, the secretary of effective followers and the conformists has no moderate influence on the job attitude. However, the secretary of the pragmatists has moderate influence on the perception of conflicts. Comparing to other studies on followership, the ratio of the effective followers and the pragmatists is relatively low, and that of conformists is comparatively high. As the result, it is strongly recommended to develop and educate the effective followership on secretaries.

    This study is practiced as one of the ways to improve the efficiency of the secretarial education. The purpose of this study is to present the teaching method and case to strengthen the secretarial education which focuses on the office procedure. This study examines the practical teaching method and characteristics of secretary office procedure subject, and then offers an efficient program which can be used to make a capable secretary with a skill employed immediately after graduation. This study introduces a case study about a secretarial office procedure education developed and operated in Hyechon college where I have worked for many years. The secretarial office procedure education program I developed is MCST(Mock Company for Secretarial Training), a kind of a virtual company which have been operated for 10 years since 1992. This lO-year long-term plan is divided into three stages - MCST program development, MCST program establishment, MCST program vitalization. According to the three short-term programs, "Wang company" in the period of 1992-1996, "Young company" in 1996-1999, and "Pre Pro Sec. Co." in 1999-2002 were made and used for the secretarial office procedure education. "Me company" founded in 2003 have developed M1st-Future program (my best future: M1st).
