    Recently, as sense of crisis about human survival has become serious due to worsening environmental pollution, people have begun to pay attention to their health more and more. In order to improve health conditions, multifarious approaches have been made from such diverse sectors as foods, clothing, medical sciences and environment, and particularly space environmental matters of housing cannot but be a matter of great concern to maintain and enhance the health of the residents. However, scarcely empirical studies have been made from the viewpoint of the users regarding the characteristics of Modern Hanok that has been appreciated as an example of a representative healthy housing. Therefore, this study aimed to study the recognition of apartment residents concerning the health characteristics of Modern Hanok. The health characteristics of Modern Hanok analyzed through literature investigation were classified into three categories of physical, mental and social health, and based on these characteristics, survey was made through web-survey upon 200 apartment residents who have interest in Hanok but have not lived or stayed in Hanok yet. The survey result revealed that about 60% of the respondents have recognized the health characteristics of Modern Hanok, and the respondents recognizing this fact expected that on a comparatively low average level of 2.09 out of 5 the health characteristics of Modern Hanok would affect their health. At current housing market where users' viewpoint and roles function more importantly than ever, the result of this study will contribute to enhance the comprehensive understanding about the health characteristics of Modern Hanok through empirical study on what the users think and expect.

    In order to solve housing shortage, an apartment has been built and supplied in large quantities in Korea. As such a result, the apartment became a typical housing type in Korea. However, the housing became vulnerable to accommodate rapidly changing life-style & life-cycle of koreans and was lost the concept of Korean traditional housing for inheriting and developing Korean traditional culture. Therefore, this paper aims at eliciting of design elements for development on standard model of long-life housing with durability & flexibility based on data derived from housing consumers's questionnaire survey and expert's opinion surveys. We expect that the standard model developed on the basis of open building applying support & infill elements will be used as a standard model for planning future long-life housing with capacity.

    This study aims to find the determining factors for apartment rental prices by using Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. In the process, differences among the groups and multicollinearity and correlation between the variables are examined using analysis of variance(ANOVA), correlation analysis and factor analysis. The comprehensive analysis of reliability of the variable and comprehensivization ensure objectivity. For this analysis, the characteristics of the determining factors for apartment rental prices by sub-regions in Seoul are as follows : First, the housing supply rate appears center of the central and the southwest region is influenced by the cultural and ecological environment, convenience, the size of the complex and reputation of the developer. Second, the northeast region is generally influenced by the regional economy, housing size, the density of the complex, well-known construction companies and relevant variables of individual housing and the density of the complex, physical and social environment, reputation of the developer, local economy and housing size. Lastly, the southeast region appears to be influenced by the local economy, the density of the complex, housing size and the educational environment.

    The aim of this study was to study the functions and roles of Green Community Rediscovery Center (GCRC) in terms of community integration, to design GCRC with various types of green roofs, and to investigate the possibility of applying a renewable energy system (e.g., PV) to the building greenery systems. The four major functional modules for GCRC were suggested: implementation of ecopark and community gardens with environmental education programs, implementation of green housing model with education programs, Discover Science Center, and implementation of green business model with education programs. Three major functions of the center are also presented in terms of design: 1) functions of community gardens; 2) establishment of a green business model, community composting system and an urban farming system; and 3) roles of community gardens in social interactions within GCRC. GCRC provides residents with the opportunities of community gardens, urban farming based on a successful recycling system, as well as a green business model and environmental education programs near their homes. The air temperature of the green roof (utilizing Sedum sarmentosum as a cover plant) was approximately $3^{\circ}C$ lower than that of the non-green roof, indicating a potential efficiency increase in PV systems for GCRC. It was concluded that the GCRC suggested would enhance the neighborhood satisfaction, improve the quality of life and contribute to social integration and community regeneration.

    In order to have better understanding of the concept and meaning of soundscape, it is very important to consider entirely the objectives, activities, historical development processes and accomplishments of world soundscape project leading by R. Murray Schafer. Therefore, the ultimate purpose of this study is to inquire into the concrete development processes and practical activities of the soundscape in order to correspond to Schafer's conception of a tuning of the world. The establishment of WSP is based on noise pollution, listening attitudes and noisy music. Schafer formulated 5 types of item as a target, and wrote down concrete activities to achieve the goals. Especially, he devised the conceptual, educational, political and social strategies as the practical strategies of WSP. It is obtained various products by the activities of WSP from the planning starting year in 1969 to the stagnation period in 1979. That is, there are the social survey on noise-vancouver 1969, the book of noise, Okeanos, a study of community noise by-laws in canada 1972, the music of the environment, the vancouver soundscape, european sound diary, five village soundscapes, handbook for acoustic ecology and so on. The research activities of WSP arouse inspiration in many people interested in sound. Specially, it is emphasized the importance of increasing for their social roles in order to more actively improve and create the quality of sound environment. Also, it shows us the directions on how to lead our furture sound.

    Construction companies find it increasingly necessary to reduce the cost as the construction market has been suffering from a depression and the industrial environment has been changing fast lately. The cost cut demands the productivity management of the field operations, which can be made feasible by assigning an appropriate number of managers on the construction site. However, previous studies are focused on the labor productivity and construction companies take into account only the revenue per worker in organizing the staff. The purpose of this study is to research the model for calculating the field management manpower in accordance with the characteristic of project and site conditions which are usually considered in the beginning of the construction project. The data about apartment building projects of domestic large constructors and factors related to them were statistically analyzed. The results of this study can be used to calculate the necessary field management manpower in accordance with the characteristic of project.

    Due to global warming issues caused by climate changes which are internationally being highlighted, recently, there are lots of efforts under way to reduce energy consumption in various fields. Currently, 25 percent of energy consumption in Korea are being generated from buildings and especially, nearly 54 percent of them are being consumed by households. This study, therefore, aims to consider energy consumption status in the existing rural houses and analyze structure system performance, window system performance and air-permeability of domestic passive-type buildings using PHPP which is an analysis program of building energy to improve energy consumption problems in rural areas. Then, energy reduction plans in rural houses were proposed, by comparing and analyzing energy reduction of the existing rural houses, based on these data.

    In respond to the global energy crisis and climate change, there have been many ongoing national efforts to develop a sustainable housing prototype followed by "2 million Green Home Project" in Korea. More than 50% of nation's population are currently living in apartment housing thus the country is seriously in need of developing green apartment prototype. In this research, we focused on energy-conservative green apartment design prototype that have both passive components and active systems explored in a systemic design approach. After selecting an existing basic apartment unit, we analyzed and compared statistical data with the simulated annual energy consumption to match these two data sets for validating simulation accuracy performed with TRNSYS package. We performed energy simulations with different passive design factors such as varied insulation thickness, window types and infiltration rates as well as the active design factors including boilers and lighting fixtures to analyze their impacts on the energy performance of the housing unit using TRNSYS software. As a result, we acquired significant energy reduction effect with explored design strategies but the life cycle cost analysis for the final design guidline would need to be performed. In this study, we focused on a systematic comparative energy analysis based on TRNSYS that can improve the design of a green apartment housing.

    The goal of this study is to analyze the impact of load factors on building energy consumption by using EnergyPlus program. We selected a campus building and monitored energy consumption from January 2009 to November 2010. First, we simulated energy consumption basically with weather data, building heat gain and EHP performance data. And then we simulated energy consumption with three additional parameter(infiltration, OA control and schedule). Simulation results are verified by MBE and Cv(RMSE) proposed by M&V guideline 3.0. Simulated total energy consumption was 104.3% of measurements, 4.33% of MBE, and 13.62% of Cv(RMSE). Results show infiltration and schedule were revealed as the most dominant factor of heating energy consumption and of cooling energy consumption, respectively.

    Landscaping on building sites has been regulated by Building Code in Korea. By Article 42 of the Code, landscaping is mandated in the process of building construction and people should comply with the code to get the building permit. On the other hand, sustainability tends to be a prime value these days. Because of the intrinsic nature of Korea Building Code, the landscaping was not adequately implemented in reality. After studies on the landscape ordinance, the major problems on the mandated landscaping has been speculated as follows: 1. As far as landscaping has been regulated by single building code, there seems to be a limitation. Urban Planning Code etc. would be another mean to adequate landscaping. 2. Speculations on landscape details associated with landscape plans are needed for building permit process. 3. By any level of law, the landscape should be reinforced for public buildings and developments because of its own publicity. 4. Locally sound landscape would be implemented through Special Architectural District etc.
